STACEY • Owner, stylist.

Celebrity stylist Stacey Weinstein founded Loft 26 after perfecting her art for more than a decade at top New York salons and in the film and TV industry. Nominated for a daytime Emmy for her achievements in hair styling, Stacey is renowned for her work behind the camera making celebrities look their best. She is also no stranger to life in front of the camera, whether giving her expert comment as a trend-setting stylist or being captured by reality TV cameras while styling celebrities such as Bethenny Frankel.

Stacey trained and worked as a hair stylist at an elite Madison Avenue salon, where the celebrity clientele took notice of her precision cutting expertise, creativity, and cutting-edge style. Before long, Stacey was ready for a new challenge: the life of an entrepreneur. She founded the innovative Once Upon A Bride, an elite team of hair and makeup artists who travel to the bride on her wedding day and are there until she walks down the aisle.

Once Upon A Bride became tremendously successful, and it remains a key part of Stacey’s creative mission. As demand for her services grew, she opened Violet, a ladies-only speakeasy salon in Nolita. Violet’s popularity soared, and soon the cozy downtown space was filled with brides and ladies enjoying makeovers. It became clear that it was time to expand, so Stacey opened Loft 26 in the fashion hub of Chelsea, tripling her salon space. While continuing to serve her loyal female clientele from the Violet days, she expanded to include a barber to meet men’s grooming needs. The salon also became the home of Once Upon A Bride, making the Chelsea loft a one-stop shop for bridal hair and makeup and the full range of salon services, from haircuts through to coloring, blow-drying, hair extensions, and spray tanning.

Stacey was nominated for a daytime Emmy for “Outstanding Achievement for Hairstyling” for her work on the chat show Bethenny. As Bethenny Frankel’s personal stylist, Stacey has appeared on Real Housewives of New York, Bethenny Getting Married, and Bethenny Ever After. She has been a stylist for The Bachelorette’s Andi Dorfman and actress Rosemarie DeWitt, and at CBS news. In her 6  years at The View, she styled many celebrity guests and the hosts, including Lisa Ling, Meredith Vieira, Joy Behar, and Elisabeth Hasselbeck. She has appeared on Entertainment Tonight, the Today Show, David Tutera’s My Fair Wedding, The Knot LIVE, the Lifetime TV show Get Married, and bridal segments on Z Living TV. Her work has appeared in People, Glamour, Brides, InStyle Weddings, and am New York.

During New York Bridal Fashion week, Stacey has worked on shows for Vera Wang, Jenny Yoo, and Mark Ingram.

Especially skilled at cutting and styling curly hair, Stacey is also an expert at braiding, modern updos, and men’s cuts. She reveals the true beauty of her clients through a sexy, modern approach to hair, with a hint of romance and classic, clean looks.

When she is not in the salon or out working with brides, Stacey styles clients in Brooklyn Heights, where she lives. Her Italian greyhound, Penelope Plum, is the salon mascot. Stacey is deeply passionate about animal welfare, and she contributes a portion of the salon’s profits each month to the Humane Society and the ASPCA.

PENELOPE PLUM • Salon Mascot.

Penelope is the slinky, elegant salon mascot of Loft 26. A fawn Italian Greyhound, she was born on May 28, 2009, in Washington Heights. When she was younger, she gave her human, Stacey, quite a scare when she was hit by a car – but thank heavens, this little dog is a survivor.

A sweet-natured, gentle girl, she is beloved by clients and the whole team at Loft 26. A salon hound since Stacey owned her first salon, Violet, she can think of nothing better than lounging in the sun and keeping an eye on the stylists as they perform their magic. Oh, and getting petted—that’s pretty good, too.

SPECIALIZES IN: Lying in the sun, posing adorably, snoozing
SIGNATURE STYLE: The Great Gatsby meets Sunset Boulevard

LOREN • Colorist.

Loren is renowned as a talented hair painter, using the technique of balayage to create a natural or beachy look. Her specialties are corrective color and achieving the perfect blonde tone. Numerous models and actresses are among her loyal clientele, including Bethenny Frankel, Rose McGowan, and Rosemarie DeWitt.

Loren believes that no one should ever have to compromise texture for color, and by adding botanical oils to her formulas, she treats hair at the same time as it is being colored. Her clients walk out not only with gorgeous color but also with healthy, glossy hair. The greatest buzz for her is seeing a woman walk through the door looking great but leaving looking fabulous. While her most popular look is brunette with honey-toned balayage, she celebrates the full spectrum of color—blondes, brunettes, and redheads. She is known for creating color that is clean and natural, never overdone or over-processed.

Extensively educated in the use of premium Goldwell products and Organic Salon Systems, she is committed to continually learning new techniques and expanding her product knowledge.

Some of her style icons are Catherine Deneuve, Jacqueline Onassis, Brigitte Bardot, and Jerry Hall.

Now a Manhattan girl, Emily was born and raised in Woodstock, in upstate New York. Music was a huge part of her life growing up, and she loves everything from Lynyrd Skynyrd to John Mayer.
